Worship at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church

Worship is very wide ranging at the church. There are two Sunday services reflecting different worship styles.

10:00am Sunday

Since January 2005, CHMC has been following a new format for morning worship. The morning begins at 10am with approximately 20 minutes of worship for all the church family.

From 10.20am there are a number of choices:

The whole church then come together at approximately 11.15am for refreshments.

6:30pm Sunday

At 6.30 pm. the emphasis is on teaching, prayer and ministry. There are a number of different worship band as well as input from other musicians and a singing group. Worship is freer in style - using contemporary material - and is usually led by trained Worship Leaders. Prayers for Healing and Wholeness are offered at the monthly Communion service and a prayer team is available at all services.

Café Church

For those who prefer a less formal setting, especially those new to faith and church, there is Café Church. We meet in the coffee bar and the focus here is sharing together, whether it's the refreshments, the Bible or prayer. There is music, but no communal singing. There is input, but no sermon. It's informal, but we are touching on real life issues and God is present.

Midweek Prayer

There is a mid-week prayer meeting on Wednesdays at 10.30am. which once a month includes a Communion Service.

Holy Communion

Each service usually has one Holy Communion per calendar month. For children, our Children and Holy Communion Policy Document applies. (PDF)
